The Armenian Alphabet Blanket

Hand cross-stitched by Lusik — the first three letters a child will learn.

$65

The premium layout — the alphabet stitched twice, six letter-squares across the blanket.

A soft acrylic crib blanket, woven through with a small pomegranate pattern — the symbol Armenian textiles have carried for a thousand years, embossed quietly into the cloth itself. Onto that cloth, by hand, Lusik cross-stitches the first three letters of the alphabet: Ա Բ Գ in Armenian, or A B C in English. She stitches them twice, in two parallel diagonals that cross the blanket corner to corner, so six letter-squares run across the surface — three letters in one diagonal, the same three again in the other. Made to order, one at a time, in Lusik's home in Southern California. She picks the thread from whatever spools she has on hand the week she makes yours, so no two blankets are exactly alike — the small variations are how you know one woman made it. For other letters or a name you'd like spelled out, write Lusik at hello@lusikandsons.com.

About these photos

Photos shown are examples of past work. Because each piece is handmade and materials may change over time, the exact fabric, trim, closure style, colors, and details may vary from the photos shown. Each order is made with care, but it may not be an exact copy of the sample photo.

1. Choose your alphabet

2. Choose the layout

Six letter squares placed in two parallel diagonals, both slanting top-left to bottom-right (↘). The first letter (A) sits at the top-left of each diagonal track. The upper diagonal hugs the top-right region of the blanket; the lower diagonal hugs the bottom-left region — so the two diagonals occupy diagonally opposite corners. Alphabet stitched twice, once on each diagonal. For a different letter or a name you'd like spelled out, write Lusik directly — she always reads them herself.

3. Choose your colors

Lusik picks the thread for each blanket from whatever spools she has on hand the week she stitches yours. Small variations between blankets are how you know one woman made it.

4. Optional personalization

Two short lines Lusik can place on a free square of the blanket — your child's name, a year, a date that mattered. Both optional. Leave them blank and the blanket ships with just the alphabet, no extra charge either way.

Real example

Lusik stitches the name in the center of the blanket and the year on the empty square diagonally above — on the line that runs between the two alphabet diagonals — like the OLEN / 2026 blanket shown here. Final placement may shift slightly depending on the specific text length.
